Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. She is a reporter covering everything starting with NASA and the Space Force and commercial space businesses to the rise of Space Tourism. Kristin was mother of NASA astronauts and an avid space fan has spent her entire childhood within the space industry. She spent five years as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy under the Trump and Biden Administrations. During that time, she also reported on impeachment hearings for President Trump and the 2020 presidential election as well as efforts of two administrations to combat the Coronavirus pandemic. Additionally, she traveled extensively with the Vice President and President of the United States as well as a secret visit to Afghanistan with former President Donald Trump. Prior to becoming a part of the company in, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up in local TV news stations including Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she was awarded one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin, who is a skilled filmmaker, founded Field Mouse Films, a firm that is specialized in documentaries, for companies such as Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin is a graduate of journalism at Boston University. Kristin is married to her daughter and 3-year-old daughter in Washington, D.C.
